About Program
Global Up for Individuals is an interactive online program designed to help you build the global competence skills needed to thrive in today's interconnected world. Developed by AFS Intercultural Programs, this award-winning experience combines self-paced learning with live facilitated dialogue sessions where you'll engage with participants from around the world.
Throughout the program, you'll strengthen your intercultural communication, self-awareness, empathy, collaboration, and ability to navigate cultural differences. You'll explore topics such as identity, culture, power dynamics, inclusion, and global challenges while reflecting on your own experiences and perspectives.
The program requires approximately 10–15 hours over six weeks and is suitable for students, professionals, educators, volunteers, and anyone looking to develop essential global skills. Upon completion, you'll earn the internationally recognized AFS Global Competence Certificate and a digital badge via Credly.

In the AFS Global Up At Home learners are invited to collaborate effectively across differences through the virtual interactive program that requires no travel. The Global Up At Home brings into learners’ awareness that culture is all around us, even within our own communities or local context.
The AFS Global Up Abroad develops learners’ global competence before, during and after an international experience. The curriculum is delivered in 18 online modules supported by a trained Qualified Facilitator.
With the Global Up Educator program, educators will learn to collaborate effectively across differences through the virtual interactive program that requires no travel. The Global Up Educator teaches global competence and equips educators to foster global competence in their students.
With the AFS Global Up At Work learners will learn to collaborate effectively across differences through the virtual interactive program that requires no travel. The Global Up At Work teaches the skills and strategies necessary to work effectively on diverse teams.
