Internship with SAIIE Study Abroad Program

Although I wasn't studying abroad on the program, I carried out an internship in development of the program. It was an insightful experience where I got a true feel for how the study abroad program worked. The internship itself was challenging and I did not receive the support and guidance I would have expected. However, from the angle I was at, I was able to see how much enjoyment the students got from their experience. The groups were often small, but the quality of teaching, trips and cultural activites was high.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
For future travelers who take part in the program itself, I would advise ensuring that they live with a traditional Spanish family, as this is the best way to fully immerse yourself in the culture; you are forced to learn the language and are able to truly experience the Spanish lifestyle and food.
