About Program
This 4-week summer course focuses on tropical marine ecology and the interactions between humans and marine ecosystems. Students will explore the Gulf of Thailand to study Bryde’s whales, sea turtles, and coral reefs, gaining practical research skills and contributing to ongoing marine ecology research. The program emphasizes the development of research methodologies, equipping students with the ability to conduct independent studies and analyze ecological data. This hands-on approach ensures students gain real-world experience in marine science and makes this program an outstanding investment in your future as an environmental scientist or marine biologist.
Students spend at least 20 hours on dives during this course and will also earn a PADI Open Water SCUBA certificate was well as the PADI Advanced Open Water SCUBA certification. (If you are already certified in Open Water or Advanced Open Water other certifications may be available.)
