Course feedback

The course was very informative and well-organized. It provided a clear understanding of different teaching concepts and approaches that are useful for educators. The trainer explained the topics in a simple and understandable manner, which made it easier for learners to follow the sessions. The overall structure of the course was good, and it helped participants gradually build their knowledge and confidence in teaching.

One of the strongest aspects of the course was the trainer’s ability to create an engaging learning environment. The trainer encouraged interaction, discussions, and questions, which helped learners actively participate in the sessions. This interactive approach made the learning experience more interesting and meaningful. The trainer also used practical examples to explain different teaching methods, which helped learners understand how these methods can be applied in real classroom situations.

However, there is one area where the course could be improved further. Since many learners who take this course may plan to work in India, it would be very helpful if the course also included some content related to curriculum-based English teaching. In many schools in India, English is taught not only as a communicative language but also as a subject that follows a specific syllabus and curriculum. Teachers are often required to follow textbooks, prepare lesson plans according to the curriculum, and help students prepare for examinations.

If the course included some guidance on teaching English within a curriculum-based system, it would make the training even more practical and relevant for learners who want to work in Indian schools or educational institutions. For example, the course could include topics such as understanding a syllabus, planning lessons based on textbook units, teaching grammar and writing according to curriculum requirements, and preparing students for exams. This would give learners a better understanding of the expectations they may face in a school environment.

Overall, the course was very useful and provided valuable knowledge about teaching methods and classroom practices. The trainer’s clear explanations and interactive sessions made the course engaging and enjoyable. With the addition of curriculum-based English teaching content, the course could become even more comprehensive and beneficial for learners who wish to teach in the Indian education system.

Course feedback

Recapitulation of what I know and relating the same to what I do not know, made my learning meaningful and joyful. The teacher did her very best in guiding me at each and every step. The needs of each and every learner was considered. Written assignments given as part of the course, enabled to improve my confidence and writing skills.

The trainer was non judgemental and conscious to the needs of the student. My strengths were identified. Peer teaching assignments and Teaching Practise assignments, we're the ones I thoroughly enjoyed.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I was nervous prior to the teaching practise assignments. I remained calm and composed and did my best
Pros
  • Good teaching
  • Candid feedback
  • Opportunities given
Cons
  • Not able to thoroughly listen
  • Struggled to make "Warmer Activity" more fun
  • Could not manage time in certain peer teaching assignments

A lesson in teaching

One attends a training course expecting theory and instruction. This one offered something more. The trainer demonstrated how a teacher ought to conduct themselves through clarity patience and intellectual generosity. Questions were welcomed and discussion encouraged which made the learning both rigorous and engaging. One left not only with notes on pedagogy but with the more valuable impression of teaching properly practiced. It was in effect a lesson not merely in methods but in the manner and character of good teaching.

An Inspiring and Professional TEFL Learning Journey

My TEFL training experience has been highly rewarding and has helped me grow with confidence and clarity. The sessions were structured, practical, and extremely useful for real classroom situations. A key highlight of this journey was my trainer, Ashika, whose guidance truly shaped my learning. She was exceptional—professional, knowledgeable, and always approachable.

Ashika’s explanations were simple, clear, and very effective, making even difficult concepts easy to understand. Her feedback was thoughtful and detailed, helping me reflect on my teaching techniques and improve step by step. I always felt supported during the course, and her encouragement motivated me to participate actively and try new methods.

What inspired me most was her genuine passion for teaching and her commitment to ensuring every trainee succeeded. She created a positive learning environment where we could express doubts freely and learn without hesitation.

Overall, this TEFL experience has strengthened my teaching skills, and Ashika’s exemplary training has been a major reason for my growth. She is truly an inspiration, and I am grateful for the learning I gained under her guidance.

Incredible experience

The experience with the TEFL course at ACT was great and I would highly recommend it. The trainer was a consummate professional and made the learning experience fun and educational. The course was demanding but well worth the effort. The Teaching Practice was invaluable with providing real life experience in an actual school classroom environment. The feedback both from the trainer and from my peers helped to understand my strengths and weaknesses. I would recommend this course wholeheartedly.

Admiring the irony of learning how to teach

I decided to take this TEFL/TESOL course because I wanted to develop solid, professional skills into teaching as a newbie in the field. I’ve always enjoyed helping people learn, and I felt that this qualification would give me the right methods, confidence, and structure. I also wanted to open up opportunities to teach internationally or online. Our trainer Ms Ashika has been very supportive and professional, and friendly at the same time. The live teaching practice was an eye opening experience to the real life challenges every teacher goes through on a daily basis.

Questions & Answers

I learnt many warmers that could be used to energise a class instantly. One could also learn various techniques to teach listening, reading, writing and speaking to language deficient learners.
