5 days a week (15 hours a week) → for 15 weeks
3 or more years experience as a teacher/educator for any age level, or comparable experience leading/directing youth programs
Native or near-native English speaker
Proficient in the use of Zoom
Access to a computer or laptop
Strong and reliable internet connection
Able to connect from September 7th - December 17th, 2021 for approximately 8 total hours in Zoom each week (5 days a week) Monday 3 PM - 5:15 PM Eastern Daylight Time *weekly meeting at 3 PM Tuesday-Friday 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM Eastern Daylight Time

Our Virtual Impact Program connects volunteers from across the globe with students throughout Latin America, who attend our after-school Virtual English Academy free of charge.

Applications are now open for our Virtual Volunteer Lead English Teacher position to serve young students enrolled in our Virtual English Academy during the September-December 2021 semester. Gain online international leadership and English as a Foreign Language experience while making a lifetime impact on young students throughout Latin America. You’ll connect 5 days a week for a weekly total of 15 virtual service hours and use your background as a professional educator to provide our students with English instruction and inspire them to create opportunities for their futures. Join us as we bridge cultures digitally and inspire and empower each other to reach our full potential. All it takes is a background in education, a computer, an internet connection, and a passion for service.

I've worked with Outreach360 for over three years now, and I can honestly say that the program has changed my life. As a Lead Teacher, I built lesson plans, created homework, and taught about 20 students in various levels 5 days a week. My students were bright, engaging, and genuinely some of the most passionate people I have ever met. I learned a tremendous amount about myself as a leader and volunteer, becoming a more compassionate and thoughtful educator and person in the process. The staff dedicates every waking moment to making sure that the students get access to opportunities otherwise unavailable to them and works hard to support and guide volunteers. It is a thoughtfully organized group that utilizes its volunteers and resources to the fullest potential in order to maximize growth in the students. I would absolutely recommend volunteering with Outreach360 for anyone looking to make a real difference in education.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

This program and its students are full of surprises, but I think the most surprising part for me was the growth I saw in my class in such a short amount of time. Students that began the class shy or confused would quickly end up writing full-length essays and eagerly raising their hands. Every single student overcame significant reading, writing, or speaking difficulties during just a few short months, and I was honestly shocked at the amount that they absorbed. I think their progress really speaks to the level of dedication and hard work that each student in the program is willing to put in.
