Maximo Nivel's Online TEFL course is fantastic! The online course is super flexible with a solid online platform. The didactic teaching is very well-presented and interesting, with some recommendations for additional resources if you want to dive into specific topics more deeply. Observing other teachers giving classes then provides greater context for what is learned in the didactic portion, and the final supervised teaching experience brings it all together by having the student utilize the knowledge and skills learned during the course to teach real students.

The supervised teaching portion generated the most anxiety for me. However, Maximo Nivel provides a trainer to help you through the process. This level of support was surprising for the relatively low cost of the program. My trainer, Sean, met with me multiple times to help me think through the lessons I was assigned to teach, to help me develop a teaching strategy and plan, and then to review my lesson plans once I had sketched those out. Sean was there before, during, and after the classes I gave to support and observe, and offered valuable feedback after each session. I could see and feel the improvements in my teaching after each class! In the end, it was the teaching portion that I enjoyed the most (which surprised me!). I learned so much during that week, and by the end of the week I was truly enjoying and looking forward to teaching students.

I had considered other options for certification prior to signing up with Maximo Nivel, such as CELTA. I landed on Maximo Nivel's online course because of the flexibility and the great reviews I had read from previous students (not to mention the low cost). I am now a huge believer that any course that does not offer practical teacing experience is not worth your time--the true benefit you will get from Maximo Nivel is the synthesis of the theoretical and practical in your own personalized teaching experience guided by knowledgeable and experienced teachers. Because of Maximo Nivel and Sean, I now feel ready to put my newly acquired skills to work!

The TEFL online course with Maximo Nivel lived up to my expectations and beyond. I thought I was signing up to a little course to help me teach abroad. However, the course was way more than that, it required a lot of dedicated study time with lots of assignments to submit. It took me more than the suggested 150 hours to complete, more like 200 hours, but every hour was worth the time and effort. I learned way more than I expected and now have reference material for life as well as the promise of job search support for life. The course was interesting and interactive which made committing to it easy and stimulating. I am really glad I took the course and completed it. My trainer, Sean could not have been any more helpful with encouragement, knowledge and an easy manner.

The online content was presented very well through a seamless portal (I say this as someone who is not tech savvy). I felt plenty of support from my instructor throughout the course. During the practicum, I applied the feedback provided by my instructor, and felt my confidence grow each day.

I was so impressed with the online content and structure of the TEFL curriculum with Maximo Nivel. Historically, I have learned Spanish with Maximo in both Peru and Guatemala, as well as online. I always appreciated the Spanish curriculum and workbook they provide to their Spanish students.

Well, the TEFL curriculum was just as impressive if not more so. The content and online platform were engaging and approachable. The exercises, resources, and tools provided were incredibly helpful. All of this coupled with the opportunity to observe a real live online class, resulted in my feeling super prepared for my teaching week. I was also so happy to have the trainer-debriefs after each lesson during my Practical Teaching week; he had excellent tips that I was able to put into practice the very next lesson.

While I am not looking for work at this moment, they made sure to let me know that my trainer is my "trainer for life" and he will be available when I am job hunting if I need support. He also provided a letter of recommendation informed by my Teaching Practical week, which is very appreciated.

All in all a wonderful experience getting TEFL certified and the price simply can't be beat.

The program was very thorough and consistent with all the support that I needed to learn how to teach to students and to be a teacher. Valuable skill that Maximo Nivel and my mentor Sean made very clear and concise with as much support and necessary information and pertinent detail, providing an extensive library of resources to support my journey. Teaching English to non-English speakers is a passion of mine as a retiree. I wanted to learn appropriate skills to be a good volunteer teacher and the Maximo online course was perfect for me. I learned so much and feel that I now can really serve the students that I work with. The course was very thorough and since it is self-paced, I progressed at a pace that fit my schedule. Although I did not have the experience of being physically present for my TEFL course, I did not feel as though I lacked anything. Having the ability to complete the course online granted me flexibility of working at my own pace. My instructor Lewis always made himself readily available to meet with me via Zoom, and his communication remained uplifting, transparent and effective. The course content was stimulating because not only did it prepare me to educate others, but it educated me as well. My 5-day online teaching practical was an experience that I will never forget. There is no description that I can give on the level of fulfillment I achieved just from engaging with my students and gradually learning how to improve my lessons and myself for them. I am forever grateful for this course because it has paved a new path for me in life and I cannot wait to embark on my TEFL journey!

I loved and really valued the coursework and materials provided , and the support for my mentor, Sean, was incredible. He was always very prompt in emailing me back with the many, many questions I had throughout the process, and explained everything in detail and with patience . Now, people hear about getting these certificates for cheaper etc. but the value would not even be close to what you get with Maximo. The practical at the end especially. I have no regrets starting my journey with them .
