My Number One Stop

I made an account on this website specifically to leave this review. Derek is the best recruiter I’ve ever had and I’ve been living in Korea teaching English for over three years now. Not only is he personable and reliable, he knows his stuff and keeps you up to date on everything as well. He listens to your wants and needs. He has even helped me when I was at a different school unrelated to his company! If I need a different school or if I ever have a friend ask me for a recommendation for what recruiter to use, Derek is the answer. He and the team he works with are willing, able, and incredibly professional. If you’re looking for a recruiter with all these aspects, look no further!

Great with Grace!

Grace is the absolute best recruiter I’ve come across so far! Not once did I have to worry about being ghosted or not getting a response or her being upset because I’d turned down a position. She is incredibly patient, hard-working, and attentive. Every response was quick. Grace put up with my endless rounds of questions and help set me up with my current school.

There was a short period where she went on vacation and she made sure to set me up with someone else in the mean time in case I had any questions. It’s the little things and thoughtfulness that really stood out to me. I’d highly recommend going through this program if you want to feel secure, heard, and informed throughout your process.

International School Admin Role

From start to finish - Derek at embark did an amazing job to guide me through the application - interview - contract stages of the job search! I was able to successfully land an Admin Role just outside of Seoul with a reputable school. Nothing but positive things to say about Derek and his client care. He was super attentive from finding my resume to helping me narrow down the available jobs in my desired salary range. I would not hesitate to recommend Derek for future job searches. Time for you to try embark!

Pros
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service
  • Knowledge of the local job market

Honest Review - Mia You're The BEST!

Mia and Embark Recruiting are hands down the BEST recruiting service you can use to find THE perfect school. I previously had 3 recruiters before coming across Embark Recruiting, and not only am I grateful but very happy that I did. The other recruiters claimed to have “the best support” for teachers searching for job opportunities in South Korea, but they all proved to be false. They never took the time to hear about preferences or concerns and rarely did I receive additional info about the schools they were “pitching”. I had none of that with Embark Recruiting. Mia listened to every word, worry, doubt, and preference and I never felt as if I was being pressured into signing with a certain school. Mia didn’t just send me a list of schools to choose from like other recruiters have done previously, but actually sat down with me over multiple conference calls to go over EVERY SCHOOL that could be a potential hit according to my preferences. She never pushed a school and always gave me sound and HONEST advice whenever I asked her for her OWN opinion. (Key words here are OWN OPINION) This is a valid post from a real teacher in South Korea currently at a great school. Sounds too good to be true right? And I’m sure you’ve heard that saying when things are too good to be true, then it isn’t good. Not with Mia. Mia and Embark are not a one and dump service where they get you to sign with a school and drop you after. Mia goes above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable with your school at the start, middle, and…. (I’m not at the end yet, but I can confidently say) END.

Pros
  • Landed at a school that wasn't a horror story.
Cons
  • None

Great

Recruiter was super supportive in guiding me through the application and interview process, and even helped negotiate for better starting pay.

Always quick to contact with updated and checking my progress through the process.

Never had a shortage of leads. After some last minute complications with one school, they sorted it out and had a new interview set up in only a few days, and I was able to start working without any delay from my original schedule.

Were very knowledgable and able to offer details on schools to help make a decision on which was best for me.

Great Service!

Derek at Embark Recruiting was a fantastic help with finding me a new position here in Korea. He was incredibly polite, friendly, and professional. He was very quick to respond to
my questions and emails. He found me several positions really quicky for schools that matched the criteria I laid out.

He followed up with me after every interiview and helped me
liason and negotiate with schools until I made my final decision. After making my decision, Derek continued to help me with the visa transfer process and also checked in with me to see if I was enjoying my new position.

I would highly recommend Embark Recruiting to anyone looking for a position in Korea.

Embark Recruiting is the BESTTTT!

I came across Embark Recruiting after speaking with about 6-7 other recruiters, I actually had a job offer from a franchise hagwon that paid a bit more than most for a first-time teacher and the accommodation was okay but the hours were super long, the recruiter was a bit pushy but I kept looking for other recruiters and I found Mia and Embark Recruiting. Thank god I did because she has been nothing but amazing!! She listened to what I wanted in a school and sent over some great schools for me to interview with, the last one she sent was sent from the heavens. The pay is phenomenal and so is my vacation , my apartment is absolutely gorgeous and the building is very safe and well-kept, I even referred my best friend who also wanted to teach English in Korea. Mia has been supportive and very attentive, she's answered all of my questions (even at odd hours) and has given me loads of great advice/ tips on life in Korea.

If you're thinking about teaching in Korea you owe it to yourself to use Embark as your recruiter! (they have a driver pick you up and drive you to your accommodation).

Thanks to Derek and The Entire Embark Team

I came across Embark when I found myself without a job and no LOR in Korea and had 15 days to either find a job or go back to my country. Derek and his team got me a very good school in a matter of days.

I had a very pleasant experience throughout the whole recruitment process. They gave me all the support I needed. I was so frustrated and very stressed at the time but Derek promised to get me a good school and that I would not have to go back to my country to start the whole process over since I had no Letter of Release. He kept his word and He DELIVERED on his promises.

They are a very professional team and they only recommend schools to you based on your needs, interests or requirements.

I would highly recommend working with these guys and I would definitely be using their free services again in the future should I need them.

Thank you guys!
