We ask that volunteers be able to commit to a minimum of two (2) weeks - this allows our team and the volunteer to build good rapport, as well as ensure the consistency and quality of our work. Our expert local staff provides the training and guidance for new volunteers, which takes time away from their normal work schedule. Exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis, especially if a volunteer has a particular skill or experience (more details on skills below). If you are unable to volunteer for the minimum of two (2) weeks, we ask that you gift $10 USD per day. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation, lodging and food expenses.

About Program

Trailblazer Foundation is seeking passionate individuals to join our team of volunteers and help us provide clean water and prosperity to rural Cambodian communities. As a smaller organization that is committed to doing more with less volunteers and fundraisers are vital to Trailblazer's success. Volunteers are essential to our work, and we are proud to partner with dedicated people who are interested in making a difference in the lives of poor rural families.

Program Impact

Activities include: Washing gravel, Mixing cement, Dispensing cement into water filter molds
Helping load and unload truck with water filters and filtration media
Assisting on water filter deliveries in the field
During your volunteering week you will have the opportunity to go out with the biosand water filter team to local villages to deliver and install the filters. Volunteers who experience a water filter delivery would be in the field from 8:00am to 3:00-4:00pm. On the day when volunteers would be in the field, it is strongly suggested volunteers come prepared with water and snacks or a box lunch.
