About Program
Independent AidCamps are individual placements where we try and match your requirements with those of our local partner organizations and the communities they serve.
You tell us where and when you'd like to volunteer and what sort of work you'd like to do and we'll liaise with our partner organizations to determine if they have a corresponding opportunity available. If they do then we'll arrange an appropriate placement for you.
Independent AidCamps are mostly suitable for self-reliant individuals and couples. You'll need to be patient, have a good sense of humour, and possess the ability to easily get on well with people.
Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. Cameroon, a country at the crossroads between West and Central Africa, is often referred to as "Africa in miniature" for its geological and cultural diversity. Natural features include beaches, deserts, mountains, rainforests, and savannas. Interestingly, it's also home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 20 million people.
