Innovative Financial Specialist

Sustainability Demonstration Center Costa Rica seeks an exceptional volunteer to serve as our financial specialist for a minimum of 3 months.

The Financial Specialist would support the Center to:
Establish a more effective and efficient accounting system
Manage transaction recording processes
support financial statements preparation and internal controls
Send monthly documents to Center’s accountant

The ideal candidate will have professional accounting experience, with preference for those who worked with nonprofits. They will possess expertise in setting up and training on accounting systems, and a desire to lend their knowledge and experience to a volunteer organization with a strong history of environmental justice and community service.

Candidate’s Spanish language comprehension would be ideally be minimally at intermediate level since the accounting system would be in Spanish, and interactions with the community would require some level of Spanish language ability.
