Muy Excelente!!!

It was great to have an experience that was so different to the everyday life I was used to. It was a nice change of pace and to experience the culture of Costa Rica was above par! It was cool to start thinking outside of the box. I wasn’t able to get a bug net before coming and I enjoy being able to have a closer look at butterflies. I was able to fashion my own net with a stick and a head net, and it didn’t disappoint one bit.

Group Service Learning Abroad Trips in Costa Rica

Rice and beans will never taste the same because they were so delicious down here. Basically any food that you buy down here is going to be better than what we sell in the States. This experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanted to have an experience outside of the US. It was safe and secure, I never felt threatened. It was really awesome being able to relax at the turtle sanctuary with everything being laid back and having the experience of communicating with people from all over the world. The people that you meet down here aren’t only Costa Rican because there are a lot of students studying abroad so you can meet people of all cultures. The Natuwa animal sanctuary was amazing and Rodolfo is the coolest guy every. I would do this trip for 2 months straight if possible.

What would you improve about this program?
Make sure that you break in your shoes very well and walk at least 5-10 miles a day before you come down.

Amazing Trip

It was more of a camping lifestyle. This is my style of life of life and I loved it so much! Well this is the programs we did that was like thus. I enjoyed the staff so much. They were so nice and caring. Also, we had nice communication before the trip. It was beautiful places that we traveled to. I also really enjoyed the people we met that provided the areas and volunteer work for us. I felt like such an was really rewarding knowing that we were helping others lives in the process. I wish I didn’t have to leave, but I highly want to do a trip with them again.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
I only knew a little bit of Spanish coming and it would be more helpful knowing more.

Wonderful Experience

The trip was a great experience for a first out of country trip was great. Locations were beautiful. People we met were wonderful. Natuwa was fenomenal I suggest it for school groups and families. Some information was about the trip was changed but was not a problem. Celeste was a great guide and invaluable helping with communication as well as helping with a student medical emergence. The trip went great I expect we will use this company again for future travels. We had a school trip with 24 faculty and students and we had a great trip.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Make sure you get itinerary early to make sure you have all information needed prior to leaving. Look into the places you are going and see if they require anything specific. Enjoy your time and have a great experience.

Spring Break Trip 2020

Hibiscus was an excellent company to work with. We were provided with an itinerary for the trip ahead of time, which was immensely helpful. The trip itself was well organized and provided several different experiences for our students. Celeste was amazing while dealing with an injured student that required a trip to two separate hospitals, and both Lauren and Celeste were flexible and easy to work with when we had to change our itinerary due to Coronavirus concerns. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

What would you improve about this program?
The only suggestion would be to give more guidance about a packing list for each individual location ahead of time, as we had to get a few things last minute before the trip.

Great program

The kids were excited to service the animals in need like cleaning cages and feeding them. They loved being in the jungle and finding exotic animals on the trees. Being able to be right at the animals natural habitat help them realize how frágil they are and how is important that we all do something to protect them and help them. This is an amazing opportunity the kids learn to give some of their time to where’s needed. I would recommend this program to my friends so they can bring students to Costa Rica for a great experience.

What was your funniest moment?
When we were cleaning h the cappuccino monkeys cages I think I went to close where it was standing f and he put his hands through the fence and grab my gloves and ripped them. I got scared but then I was laughing.

Great experience

My great experience when I was out here in coast Rica it was fun and working with the animals at sanctuary. Also it was going to the river, pool and going to the souvenir store to buy gifts for my family. Another great experience I had was seeing the sloths and the monkeys and working with sea turtles by making home for the baby sea turtles. There was a lot of new food that I had it was really good. It was fun making these boxes for the monkey to play with toys and leaves clean out cages for bird's.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice to future travelers is to drink slot of water And to bring alot of sunscreen

Fun Experience in Costa Rica

I really recommend this program( Hibiscus Travels). It’s very fun and beautiful,I helped animals in Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, like cleaning their cages, feeding them, it was funny to watch them eat and I also helped sea turtles. My group went on fun trips around Costa Rica, we went lip lining, kayaking, and went to the beach, it was my first time of doing this all and it was fun and they made sure I was ok. I really recommend the program it’s fun and you can learn new experiences. If you join the program I hope you have fun too. :)

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
One surprising thing I did was kayaking. My group went to go kayaking and I was a little bit scared because it was my first try and I was afraid I was gonna fall. And I was surprised I never fallen.
