About Program
Volunteer sports coaching with TRU puts you right into the day-to-day action of working with kids and students across a range of destinations worldwide from Costa Rica and Fiji to Vietnam and beyond. This isn’t about observing from the sidelines; you’ll be actively involved in running sessions in schools and community settings where consistent coaching isn’t always available.
From football and rugby to activities like kickboxing, you’ll help deliver sessions that are energetic, structured, and inclusive. You’ll lead drills, organise games, and keep things engaging for young people of all abilities making sure every session is something they look forward to.
Each location brings a different pace, culture, and approach to sport, giving you varied, hands-on experience as you adapt your coaching style along the way. If you want sports volunteering abroad that feels active, real, and genuinely engaging TRU offers a more direct way to get involved.

Program Impact
Your time on the programme helps bring consistency and structure to sports sessions for kids and students who may not otherwise have regular access to coaching. By showing up each week, you support local teachers and coaches, helping keep sessions organised, active, and inclusive. Rather than one-off activities, your involvement fits into ongoing programmes that continue throughout the year. This helps create a more reliable environment where young people can stay engaged in sport, build routine, and develop basic skills over time. It’s a practical contribution that supports existing efforts on the ground while giving you direct experience working with young people.
