About Program
Onwards’ original trip takes you on an authentic Dominican Republic adventure. From time at an eco lodge perched on a mountainside, to a home-stay in a rural mining town, to a lively beach weekend, this trip has everything. Plus, you will be supporting small businesses, local communities, and long-term development every step of the way. You'll be helping to alleviate poverty, all while seeing the best of what the DR has to offer. Visit local cacao plantations and learn how to make chocolate, dig for amber in the mines of La Cumbre, meet local artisans, and dine at delicious restaurants. You'll even sponsor a field trip with a local school, experiencing the magic of the DR with local children. This eye-opening adventure is capped off with a weekend in the lively beach town of Cabarete.
This isn't your typical volunteer trip. It's a sun and sand vacation, that truly makes a difference!
