About Program

During six weeks of summer vacation, Project Esperanza runs an English immersion camp. Spots are already filling up! Camp stations include arts and crafts, songs, active games and sports, stories, chalkboard, and break/snack bar. Campers are ages 5 to 14. Campers are organized by age, with some flexibility depending on previous English experience of certain campers. All activities are done in English with minimal necessary explanation in Spanish. Campers learn so much and counselors have a blast and a great experience. Camp runs Monday through Fridays, 8am to 12pm. All counselors are native English speakers.

In the afternoons, volunteers spend time in our grassroots schools leading various activities with students and community members. These afternoon activities depend on the skills and interests of volunteers and should teach new skills to those we serve. Our grassroots schools serve Haitian immigrant youth living in marginalized neighborhoods.
