It feels like home

This was my second time at camp, and I am already looking forward to go back for summer 2024 as a third year returnee. It's incredible how different it feels when you come back expecting that it will be the same as the previous year. My advice: go with an open mindset, ready to face challenges and create new friendships, but overall, ready for improving as a human being (self growth is huge at camp). This time I felt much more confident when running activities for kids and teens, and I also got the chance to travel around Europe during my week off together with some international friends. It somehow all worked out great, and I feel so greateful for it. At this point, camp is now part of my summer family and I am willing to drop by whenever I can cause it fills me with so much joy.

Just come :) You won't regret.

Pros
  • You make lifelong international friendships
  • It brings you out of your comfort zone
  • You improve your language skills
Cons
  • You get few breaks throughout the day

Camp review

So much fun, adventure, chaos and energy. I was at camp for a month, and it went by so quickly, because I was so absorbed in the moment! I was never an adventurous person but I went for the experience and I have no regrets. It's a great place to step outside of your comfort zone and throw yourself into a challenge. I've left camp with more energy, more friends, more confidence than I had going into camp. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new, something adventurous, and meet some cool people.

Pros
  • Opportunities to meet people
  • Travel to Germany
  • Lots of adventurous activities
Cons
  • Living conditions can be rough
  • Can be tiring

Camp Europe 2018

I applied for Camp Europe because I thought it would be a good chance to travel and meet new people. I also really enjoy working with kids and being active, so it was only natural for me to love working at an adventure camp. A tip I would have to others is to approach everything at camp with an open mind. I found it most beneficial to just put myself out there and by doing so I got to meet lots of new and exciting people that I never would have got to know if I didn't get involved at camp. I would encourage anyone who likes to have fun to apply for Camp Europe. I had the most enjoyable summer of my life and I hope that others can also have this opportunity.

Awesome summer and definitely worth it 💚💚💚

I had a chance to improve my German. For example, leading a project, dealing with homesick kids and being a daily manager speaking english and broken german. They were so appreciating my effort of speaking their language which made me feel proud of myself. So I want to thank CA for this wonderful opportunity. And I also learnt that CA is an international camp, so you have a chance to improve the knowlegdes of other people's countries culture more and more, and to built the friendship from all around the world. In my case, I could visit my friends from Germany in Australia. Also I had one american friend and one irish friend who visited me in Montreal, my hometown.

Amazing experience

Got to experience an international camp that was flexible yet structured. I learned a lot and formed a lot of new relationships. It was great being able to participate and instruct various outdoor activities and sports. I would recommend this to anyone that is interested in spending time abroad. It is very easy to organize travelling based around camp placements as well. Definitely makes for an unforgettable summer.

4 breathtaking weeks in Camp Adventure

It has been one of the best experiences of my live, but also one of the hardest.
The chance of knowing people from ALL OVER THE WORLD and making not only good friends but also a family is the key point of my adventure in the camp.
You improve your English everyday, and your German if you want as well.
Besides you can adquire many skills of communication and working in team that will be useful for the rest of your life.
Definitely I would highly recommend to enjoy the experience.

What would you improve about this program?
There should be less activities organized everyday, allowing kids to have free time and teamers to relax because it is exhausting for both sides.

Camp Adventure

My summer with Camp Europe was, without a doubt, one of the best i've ever had. I was fortunate enough to be able to experience working at several of the camps that Camp Adventure counselors are placed at, and I could not have enjoyed any of my experiences more. As a counselor, you will have the opportunity not only to work with amazing children, but also to work along side a group of amazing adventure minded individuals from around the world. I could not be more appreciative for this opportunity to broaden my horizons through traveling and meeting new people, and I 100% plan to come back again!

Summer 2018

To be honest this has been probably the best summer of my entire life, i was able to meet so many amazing people, and do so many amazing things its almost sad that the summer is almost over. Being able to lead hikes and see people struggling the entire time just to see the amazement on their faces when they were finished would always put a smile on my face. The kids at this camp had a blast and I think the teamer's had an even better time. With so many moving parts going on in this camp and others like the transfers, hikes, injures, new campers, it was always good to see everything working out in the end. I am for sure thinking about coming back next year for the summer of 2019. I just hope that i will be able to find time in my life for it.

What would you improve about this program?
A little more communication between the senior camp and junior camp. There was times when both camps were in the same area and it become a bit hectic.
