About Program

As a volunteer or intern you will work with the stuff together in a team to support the children in their daily needs at the orphanage, help them in their studies and guide them. You will act as staff support to help with daily tasks that the local staff is overwhelmed to complete. You can also inspire the children by creating exciting activities for them to do in their spare time, keeping them motivated and helping to create a safe and nurturing environment for the children to flourish.
To be an assistance in the orphanage you should be a team player and open minded to the Ghanaian culture. Beside that you should be friendly, creative, spontaneous and for sure interested in the Ghanaian culture. Every day is different with new and exciting tasks and challenges.
The children are looking forward to playing games and spend time with you!

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
