About Program

Sambhali is a non-governmental organization dedicated to uplifting women, children, and gender minorities in Rajasthan, India, focusing on education, skill development, and women's empowerment. Our main projects include 8 Centers in Jodhpur, Setrawa, and Jaisalmer, where volunteers play a crucial role.

At our Empowerment Centers, around 30 women receive training in sewing, embroidery, and academic classes. In the afternoons, our Primary Education Centers cater to neighbourhood children, offering classes in Hindi, English, and Maths. We also conduct weekly workshops on various subjects.

Volunteering at Sambhali Trust provides a valuable opportunity to empower underprivileged women and children while gaining insight into Indian culture and grassroots NGO operations. Volunteers assist local tutors in teaching basic English and math, bringing new ideas and methods to our organization.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
