About Program

Our two main projects in Indonesia are the 'iGreen' and 'Harvesting Future Leaders' projects.

iGreen focuses on raising environmental awareness to local communities in Bandung. Volunteers will be involved in a range of tasks including school/orphanage roadshows and village visits. You will be able to undertake hands-on activities by visiting some rural areas such as farms/landfills to better your understanding of Bandung's conditions. You will implement what you learn by educating high school students, orphanage kids and village neighbourhoods about sustainable environmental practices.

The Harvesting Future Leaders project focuses on fostering a global mindset and good values within Indonesian children. Volunteers will be teaching English classes 3 times a week and conducting cultural sessions for children/students aged 6-18. They will also work with a local NGO to create ideas for fundraising once a week so that more children can learn English.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
