About Program

We collaborate with local organizations and support our community with volunteers. Encouraging senior citizens, revitalizing playgrounds, delivering food to the hungry, supporting people with visual impairment, inspiring children in children’s homes...the list goes on.

One quality that is unique to Hands On Tokyo is our passion to becoming the catalyst that will help spread volunteerism in Japan. Overcoming language barriers, we developed a bilingual volunteer clearinghouse so that we can work together for a common purpose.

While each volunteer brings different philosophies or perceptions on volunteerism, one common belief we all have is that everybody has something to contribute to society.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
