About Program

JABEZ Kenya is a legally registered Self Help Based Organization in Kenya founded in 2011 with an extensive coverage in the entire Bungoma County through its 30 volunteers based group networks in the 9 Sub-Counties. As an award winning solution based organization, it focuses on Health in (HIV/AIDS, STD’s, STI’s and OI’s, PMTCT, HBV, HCV), Environmental Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture, Social-Cultural Diversity, Poverty Eradication and Liaison with Other Resource People.

Help us create an organic food bank value chain to help the vulnerable, needy, abandoned, destitute, orphaned and physically challenged. We are working together to enhance the lives of children. We are targeting 1800 children to be fed by the value added nutritious flour. Also we are supporting small scale farmers on providing low cost solar powered pump irrigation kits. We aim to provide 1800 underprivileged Kenyan children across Bungoma County with access to Education and Economic support.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Yes, I recommend this program

Excellent Projects in the community!!

I am actually very thrilled and overwhelmed by the way I was welcomed to the organization. I liked the structure and the responsibilities I undertook as their volunteer. I gave them all expertise knowledge and went right in the interior while visiting support groups and HIV/AIDS patients. Established a follow up tool to assist them to track over 30 support groups of more than 7,000 members they are supporting. It was quite interesting and we are currently working on a five year strategic plan for fundraising for the project!! Also worked on bamboo propagation project we had to prepare for bamboo seedlings and then distributing to neighboring farmers along the River Khalaba for protection of the river bank that is so much eroded. We also trained groups on the use of bamboo as a fuel instead of cutting down trees.

What would you improve about this program?
1. Getting more interns and volunteers to support
2. Needs lots of capacity building
3. Networking and marketing
