About Program

If you're willing to make a heartfelt impact in Kenya but are looking for where to start, then KVCDP is the right place for you. Our volunteer programs enable you to make your contribution to childcare, active teaching and learning, hygiene education, management, counseling, and any other areas of interest.

Volunteers are welcome to share their labor, skills, and knowledge as they gain experience and richness in culture. Some kids live in hardship, often after being orphaned, affected or infected by HIV and AIDS, estranged from their family or relatives, or in some situations face a lot of abuse from those living with them. KVCDP strives to bring such children within its wings and provide the basic human necessities like a place to shelter food and education. KVCDP runs a foster care that temporarily hosts children until they can be reunited with their relatives. Also, the organization runs a daycare center and school where the kids can access education, healthcare, and nutrition.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Program Impact

Kenya Voluntary and Development Project believes the biggest impact a person can have in their life is to make Earth a better place than they found it while touching the lives of those around them especially those in dire need of help, alleviating suffering, and promoting a progressive society. Africa, to be specific Bondo in Siaya, Kenya, faces an array of socio-economic challenges with poor or no support from the government hence the need for out-sourced support. We believe that every human should have a chance to have a decent life, every child needs proper growth, education, and care and every individual is entitled to healthcare. Together with both local and international partners and donors and volunteers, we strive to make societal changes for the better through our various projects and programs and to tackle by the horns the issues that are affecting the community, especially on a local level.
