About Program

Education is a needed value in Mexico and in the world, the objective of this project is to give all kinds of support to underprivileged children in foster homes and similar institutions. Volunteering in these program will help you develop self-confidence, leadership and problem solving skills, while having a two-way cultural exchange between international volunteers, children and staff of the different associations.
You will be able to help underprivileged communities, making a positive impact on their lives and potentially enhance their future.
If you are passionate about making education accessible around Mexico, you want to gain a deeper knowledge of our culture, and you want to make new friends and have a lot of fun, subscribe for one of our childcare projects.

With MVE you get accommodation, 3 meals everyday, airport pickup, in country support from one of us at the house 24/7, and the opportunity to use your free time as you wish including spanish lessons.

What is your favorite travel memory?

The reason you travel is to gain many unforgettable memories, so it is hard to pick just one. The one that impacted me the most is when I was volunteering at a farm in Spain. We worked with 3 people that immigrated from different African countries to find opportunities for better life quality. They didn't tell me much about their life before they left their home, but what they told me amazed me in a way I could not imagine. You would imagine that people that went through all of that are sad, angry people that can barely show emotions, but these people were the happiest I've ever seen. Every day I loved going to the farm because I knew that I was never going to leave without a smile on my face, they joked and laughed and really enjoyed life. They showed me that no matter how unfair life treats you, no one can change the smile on your face.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Working and developing MVE makes me want to work harder every day. We first started to contact a few institutions that we know that might need some help, but as we went deeper and talked to them and more institutions, we realized that there are so many places that need extra hands, that even if we wanted to help each one of them it is impossible. It's ironic because we live in an overpopulated world, but there are still places that need people to help out. That's why we decided to create this program and to grow as much as possible to really make a change in the city.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

We had a volunteer from New York that was unsure about what to do during the time her husband had a work thing in Mexico City. She contacted us, asking for information about volunteering; she agreed to give it a try, and now we're happy to say that she is looking forward to her next vacations to come back and feel that fulfilled again.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would probably have to choose childcare; to me, a child is the reflection of innocence we all need, you can't not smile and have fun when you see a child laughing and having a good time, it makes me want to go and play every day. Also, I think that childhood is an important phase in a person's growth, and we need well-formed people in this country.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

My sister and I are always looking for ways to make the volunteer happy and feel that it's worth it. We have the advantage to be located in a city that everyone falls in love with. But what really makes us unique is the diversity of opportunities you have to spend your time and gain something if you're not volunteering, we offer Spanish lessons, one day volunteer during weekends outside of town with locals, touristic recommendations... You can't get bored with us.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

To treat your clients the way you would like to be treated. In this world of consumerism, clients deserve to be given a service that makes them want to go back, that makes them happy to invest their resources. A company must follow their beliefs whichever they are, no matter what happens outside of it.

The company must be shaped by what happens on the inside and not on the outside.
