National Pour la Protection des Sourds offers assistance to deaf children through activities and scholar support. The objective of this project is to provide scholar support and organize sportive and artistic activities with deaf children.
The center hosts around 76 deaf children, from 4 to 20 years old. The building is linked with the one of the public schools. It was a government initiative to decide that this space would be allocated to deaf children. Common spaces such as the playground are shared with the kids of the public school which encourage the social integration of the ones with special needs.
The center organizes leisure activities and offers support to the teachers for languages classes and artistic and sportive activities. They also carry out workshops such as painting, kitchen, literacy, music, outdoors excursions, etc. One of the main focus is to foster self-appreciation in the heart of the children through a skill-based approached.
