Volunteer in the Earthquake Damaged Village of Nepal. Homestay, Teaching, and Hiking!
About Program
Fulkharka is a beautiful village 135 km northwest of Kathmandu. Youths from the village have been involved in social, educational & environmental reform campaigns in the village for over a decade. Recently the village was hard hit by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake which destroyed almost all houses and killed 27 people. We did emergency evacuation, relief works & built temporary shelters. With our personal contributions & help of our clients around the world, we have been successful in rebuilding a primary school. However it takes long time to rebuild the whole village. We have launched this volunteering program to support local families and community with supplementary income through homestay, volunteering & employment of local as guide / translator. Volunteers will stay in homestay and help in local primary school creating education materials, story telling and playing with kids. Local guide will accompany volunteers and also take you on a hike with breathtaking view of snow peaks.
