About Program
In partnership with the Tibetan Refugees living in the Pokhara Valley of Nepal, a trip with Xperitas provides an opportunity to experience life in a rural community, develop cross-cultural and communication skills, and volunteer on a project that supports community development goals. Experiencing life in a the Tibetan community expands participants' understanding of the values, traditions and languages of different cultures, as well as contributes to local and global solutions.
Participants are deeply immersed into the way of life of the Tibetan community. During the weeks in community, the team will collaborate with Tibetan villagers on building or refurbishing projects at a local school or community center.
The team may be invited to tour a local school or visit a home or temple. Others may work side by side harvesting rice with local community members.

Nepal is well known for holding 8 of the 10 highest peaks in the world with the most famous and tallest being Mount Everest. Although most people think of the many large peaks that are prevalent across the landlocked country of Nepal, around a third of the country is considered subtropical. Whether you are a climber or not, Nepal has a variety of activities for any type of traveler.
