About Program

We are offering a variety of projects which will suit anyone willing to use their time and abilities to make a significant contribution to the people of Nepal.

Your work could include helping to rebuild classrooms, running activities for kids and helping to develop and lead education and training projects.

We are seeking all types of volunteers but we are especially looking for people who fit one or more of the following categories:

Skilled volunteers, including builders, engineers and teachers.
English teachers who can stay for at least a month.
Any volunteers who can commit to staying for more than six weeks.
Volunteers can travel immediately, or who are already in Nepal.

If you would like to volunteer but do not fit into one, or more, of these categories, we STILL encourage you to register via our website. We are welcoming volunteers of all types and experience levels. So, please do not hesitate to find out more about volunteering in Nepal

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.

Yes, I recommend this program

Make a real difference, explore a new culture

If you want to experience another culture and really make a difference to the communities you are working in, then this is the ideal program for you. Because it operates at a grassroots level you are directly involved with the people who you are assisting and you can see straight away the difference you are making. The projects are well resourced, well managed and strive to work in partnership with local communities and local organizations. If you've got just a few weeks or a few months I definitely recommend volunteering with IDV.
