About Program

Volunteer with TRU in the Philippines and choose from a range of community-based projects across Palawan, allowing you to shape your experience around your interests. You can work in kindergarten settings or support teaching in local schools, help with construction and renovation projects, or get involved in environmental conservation and beach clean-ups.

For those interested in other areas, there are options to assist with animal care or take part in medical outreach programmes focused on basic community health. You’re not locked into one type of placement there’s flexibility to focus on what suits you best.

Alongside your volunteering, you’ll explore the Palawan islands, known for their clear waters, limestone cliffs, and remote beaches. This is a flexible volunteering programme that combines hands-on projects with the chance to travel, experience local life, and build a more personalised experience abroad.

Program Highlights

  • Flexible Booking with changes up to 2 weeks before departure
  • Flexible Start Dates with weekly arrivals available
  • Explore Palawan Islands with beaches, boat trips, and island hopping

Program Impact

Your time on the programme supports community projects across the Philippines that rely on consistent, hands-on help. Whether you’re assisting in kindergartens, supporting school lessons, working on construction and renovation, or joining environmental conservation efforts, your role feeds directly into day-to-day activities that keep these projects running.
Extra support in classrooms means more structured sessions and better engagement for students. On building projects, more hands help move work forward and maintain spaces used by the wider community. Conservation work, including beach clean-ups, helps protect local environments that people depend on.
Rather than a one-off experience, you’re stepping into ongoing programmes that run year-round. You’ll work alongside local teams, contributing to projects that continue long after you leave while gaining practical, on-the-ground experience in a completely different setting.
