About Program

Camp Iskra is located in Northwest Russia. We offer language programs for children aged 7-17: learning English, German, and starting this year, Spanish, French and Chinese. Every summer we invite foreign volunteers, native speakers, to help us teach kid languages. Volunteers live with children, play with them, give lessons and take part in all-camp activities. Our camp has given a warm welcome to all our guests, some of them coming for several years in a row. We provide good accommodation and five meals a day, as well as some entertainment opportunities.

Yes, I recommend this program

Unbelievable summer in Russia

It's my first time to do an overseas volunteer job. I've never imagine that I would make so many friends here and experience an amazing period with Russian kids.
Iskra is a beautiful large camp, located in a wide forest with a river around. There are entertainment facilities and comfortable living conditions. The food provided in the canteen is also delicious. Sometimes I have the opprtunity to enjoy the sunshine on the beach and swimming in the river.
We had an international team, with young people from France,Egypt, Ghana and China. Every morning we would lead children from English groups to do morning exercise and assembling. After that, we would join the classes to help them learn about writing English letters, introduce themselves in English etc. additionally, the all camp activities are also interesting and impressive. Sometimes we will also design activities by our selves and teach children to play together.
It's a remarkable experience for me. I do hope my recommendation will be useful to people who also want to do volunteer jobs.

What would you improve about this program?
Maybe different teaching ways should be used in different age groups.
