About Program

This program is designed for volunteers passionate about sustainable development, social enterprise, and community-driven economic empowerment. Based at the Imuhira campsite near Lake Kivu, volunteers will work directly with local artisans, youth groups, and women’s cooperatives to:
-Teach and co-develop recycling techniques that convert waste materials into creative, sellable crafts and products.
-Facilitate workshops on product design, innovation, pricing, quality control, and small business fundamentals.
-Support the community-run gift shop, helping organize product displays, marketing strategies, and connections with local businesses.
-Mentor participants in entrepreneurship, customer service, and basic financial literacy to strengthen long-term economic opportunities.

Volunteers engage in hands-on training alongside local partners, gaining cross-cultural experience and contributing to sustainable livelihoods in a rural Rwandan setting.
