About Program

This is an especially worthwhile project which provides an essential meal for underprivileged African school children every day of the school year.

The aims of the project are simple...
1 nutritious meal - per child - per school day.

Video and Photos

You will be working at West Riding, a respected Primary School near Cape Town, which caters for around 300 children from 5 - 13 years of age. The majority of children come from a variety of African countries including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola and the Congo. Nearly 100 of these children come to school every day without food as their parents are unable to afford this basic need.

As a volunteer, you have an opportunity to make an immediate and tangible difference to the lives of these children by ensuring they receive the food and energy they need to help them make the most of this positive educational environment. These children are hungry to learn, and with your help they will never learn to go hungry.
