About Program
This program offers the amazing opportunity to help with elephant conservation by getting up close to African elephants in a controlled but free range environment.
Situated along the gorgeous Garden Route, this 110 hectare park is home to 14 elephants who have been rescued from various predicaments including circuses and culling projects. Wild elephants in this area have been threatened by ivory hunters and displaced by communities building new villages in their homeland. Conservationists and researchers are working tirelessly to reintroduce these elephants to this area which was previously occupied by many wild elephants.
Requiring constant interaction, it is real experience to bond with these magnificent creatures. Your days will be spent preparing food, creating enrichments, monitoring behavior, collecting dung samples, conducting night time research and assisting with educational work. This project offers interaction that could never be experienced on a regular safari.
