About Program

Fully immerse yourself in the unique customs, culture and vibrancy of local life in Sri Lanka. Push your boundaries, make new memories and lifelong friends whilst gaining mental health experience, developing your skills and making a positive impact at our projects.

Our placements are a perfect fit for psychology students and graduates, as well as for those passionate about mental health.

Thanks to our partnership with the Sri Lankan government, our volunteers have the unique opportunity to facilitate mental health-focused sessions at psychiatric facilities and various social initiatives. Explore the island's beautiful landscapes, live with a local family, and make a sustainable and positive impact in communities that benefit from your work. All of this is alongside likeminded volunteers and the SLVolunteer staff team!

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
