About Program

Mawenzi Regional Hospital is located in Moshi town Kilimanjaro Tanzania. It was established before 1920 as a small military dispensary for German soldiers but in 1956 the dispensary became a referral hospital.
Mawenzi Referral hospital is operating every day in a year to make the health care easily accessible and available in Kilimanjaro.

The hospital is having different department which are:
Outpatient department OPD), Inpatient department, Radiology, Clinical Nursing, Laboratory department, Mortuary, ICU, Dental, Eye, OBGY, Surgical, ENT, CTC, RCH, TB, Orthopedic department, EMD, Psychiatric department, Pediatric etc. Volunteer/intern can choose the department to work with. In addition, Mawenzi is very busy hospital,there is an average of 200 out¬-patients at the hospital daily and about 50 of them can be admitted.
