Animal Welfare program in Thailand from $140
About Program
International volunteers on our animal welfare program in Koh Lanta, Thailand work in a center that takes care of cats and dogs that have, above all, been abandoned for various reasons.
Tasks consist of walking, cleaning, feeding, socializing with, and giving treatment to ill or recovering animals. Other tasks include administrative tasks, vet assistance, fundraising, education, catching stray animals and more.
As the volunteer program is situated on a beautiful island, volunteers at times come with the wrong idea that they will go on a holiday and in the meantime walk the dogs, but this is NOT the case. Volunteers work six hour days, six days a week, and one of the main prerequisites for the program is a clear dedication to the animals.
Volunteers stay in shared (basic) accommodation on the animal welfare site with other volunteers (two volunteers per room). NGO staff provides orientation and training.
