Volunteer in Banda Island Primary School, Lake Victoria

In late 2015 we set up Banda Island Primary School, a local school for the children of Banda Island. In our school we provide an exceptional learning environment, which nurtures imagination and curiosity whilst maintaining the children's cultural heritage. We use both local and international teachers to cultivate that cultural understanding whilst diversifying the children’s thought process. Alongside academic studies we incorporate social, cultural and artistic learning, to encourage our children to break social norms. We uphold the philosophy at Firefly that anyone can achieve anything through hard work and determination.
