About Program

Be part of African Impact's meaningful volunteer program in the heart of Zambia. If you a pre-med student, a qualified professional, or someone looking for healthcare opportunities - you are welcome to join the team in bringing in awareness and guidance to the locals of a community where access to healthcare is limited and medical resources are scarce. Contribute to the team's effort and initiatives on clinic support, home-based care, health talks, and HIV education workshops, thus making a difference on the lives of those living in traditional rural villages.

Discover the beauty of the iconic Livingstone - the ultimate playground for wildlife enthusiasts, adventure-seekers, and lovers of the great outdoors - as you make an impact on people lives with your valuable volunteer adventure.

Diversity & Inclusion 💙

African Impact strictly adheres to a non-discrimination policy that prohibits any form of bias or discrimination based on race, color or ethnicity within our projects. We have a code of conduct which all volunteers are required to follow, and we welcome all volunteers who are interested in creating a lasting impact in Africa.
African Impact prides itself on being an inclusive organization, and we welcome all members of the LGBTQIA+ community to join our projects. We have a strict non-discrimination policy, and all volunteers and staff are required to follow a code of conduct that ensures all participants are treated with respect.

Impact 🌎

Ensuring that our projects are making a viable impact in local communities and contribute sustainably to conservation is our priority. We believe that volunteering is very much a two-way thing which brings value to both the local people and wildlife and the volunteers themselves, who benefit from an authentic cultural exchange and knowledge transfer about a new country, its environment and threats facing its animals.
Responsible travel is about travellers making informed and responsible choices, and planning trips which have a positive impact on the country they’re visiting. Through careful planning, we seek to have a positive and sustainable impact on the social, cultural and physical environment at each of our project bases.

Our Child Protection Policy has been vetted and approved by Keeping Children Safe (KCS), who represent a commitment by organizations worldwide to safeguard all children from exploitation, abuse and violations of their human rights.

Program Impact

CLINIC SUPPORT
Clinics of the public healthcare system in Zambia are overrun with patients yet understaffed, and have limited medical equipment. Volunteers will have the opportunity to be involved in various departments & assist the local staff in providing patient care.

HEALTH EDUCATION
Make a meaningful contribution during health talks at local schools, support groups, & training centers by discussing relevant health issues. Help facilitate workshops with community members which are vital to increase awareness of individuals & motivate community members to make healthy lifestyle choices within the context of their environment.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
Volunteers have the chance work with a range of different community members on development projects and make an even greater impact on the ground thru fun, motivating, and engaging afternoon activities.

HOME-BASED CARE
Volunteers will have the opportunity to walk through local communities offering home-based care to people who need treatment especially to many people living in the poorer communities of Livingstone. These people do not have the means to visit a clinic or hospital thus could only rely on home-based carers to deliver basic medical aid.
