Program Impact
ASSIST A LOCAL TEACHER
Spend your mornings at a primary school in one of Livingstone’s rural communities supporting a local teacher to help identify problem areas, as well as provide individual support to the students. Share your skills with the local teacher to help her better educate the children in her care thus improving the learning experience for all.
REMEDIAL WORK
Classrooms in the rural communities are usually overcrowded causing students to easily fall behind, especially with the normal ratio of 1 teacher for every 50 students. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in identifying those struggling students & providing one-to-one attention that they would otherwise not receive.
AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
Part of your volunteer work will include facilitating after-school clubs teaching children & helping them develop their motor skills, reading, literacy, & creative development.
ADULT LITERACY
Contribute to significantly improving adult literacy in the rural community helping them improve their chances of employment. Help facilitate structured lesson plans and tests in the adult literacy course while this gives you a unique volunteer experience & immersion to a different culture.
