Business Development Internship

Amazing experience. I had the flexibity to choose my own projects which entailed creating a pipeline, creating social media posts as well as creating a blog. Wesley was always responsive and willing to provide constructive feedback which only benefitted my growth. Highly recommended for people who want to step out their comfort zone and witness personal development in several areas such as critical thinking, leadership and gain a business awareness. I would definitely do this internship again and take advantage of more projects.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would take advantage of more available opportunities as rhey were plenty within businesa development, as well as writing blogs and create social media posts.

Tiritose Sustainable Travel Internship "Virtual"

This organization does a great job of giving interns insight into the professional world while broadening their horizons not only professionally but also personally. This was a great experience for myself to develop professional skills and I valued every minute of our time working together. I learned a lot about who I am through this experience; what I want to do in the future and areas in which I need to improve. Truthfully the value of this partnership is not on your resume but rather within the impact it makes on yourself and the impact is has on the local communities.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Engage in as many ways as possible, only you limit your experience with this company. There are so many opportunities to better yourself and make a positive impact in the community.

Take on Harare with the Tiritose Trust

Harare may not be the first gap year destination on your mind, but I have been blown away during my time here. It is a beautiful country, with the best climate I’ve experienced yet and the friendliest people. I was welcomed into a local Zimbabwean company for a month as I worked on the launch of an airline. I even extended my flights to stay longer as I was given the opportunity to work on a women’s health project. From visiting the Victoria Falls, to volunteering at a children’s home, to befriending some wonderful people, to seeing the Big Five up close, to my weekly attendance at an African Dance fitness class to fully immersing myself into Harare nightlife, I would recommend this experience to anyone. It has been such a fantastic start to my gap year adventure and a trip I will remember for years to come.

What would you improve about this program?
More organised team excursions - but this would obviously be easier with more volunteers / interns. I appreciate two is a small number!
