About Program

Join our inspirational volunteer project in the city of Sao Paulo. You can really make a difference to children’s lives by being a positive influence and encouraging learning or sports activity.

The highly regarded youth centre provides a vital support base for hundreds of young people, and offers them the chance to pursue extra curricular activities which their school does not. As a volunteer, the program gives you flexibility. You can teach anything you are passionate about. Past volunteers have taught English, volley ball, belly dancing and even sushi making!

While you volunteer, you can also take our optional 1 to 1 Portuguese lessons to help you develop your language skills!

By volunteering in colourful Sao Paulo, you will experience what life is like as a local Brazilian. You will live in shared, volunteer accommodation at the youth centre - making it incredibly convenient. With cooking facilities, western toilets and a communal area, you will soon feel at home.

Impact

Sustainability

Oyster Worldwide is passionate about the importance of responsible travel. We want our projects to fit in with the local way of life, without having a negative impact on the environment, culture or economy. This means that we will only send participants to places where there is a real need and where we have been asked to work. Once there, they should fit in with the community, respecting their way of life and supporting, rather than taking, local jobs.
