About Program

During this 31-day course, you will climb the high passes and travel the lush, remote valleys of the Aysén region, developing valuable skills in wilderness camping and backpacking, cultural competence, and leadership.
While you develop your outdoor living skills, you will also spend time in the valleys where rural pobladores live and work. You may work on projects like mending fences or caring for animals, practice your Spanish language skills, and even learn the popular card game truco.
You’ll leave this course with the decision-making skills and practical experience to be a competent leader, and with unique experiences exchanging stories and living with Chilean families. If you’re looking to be a competent international outdoor traveler, then this is the course for you.
