About Program

Want to surf the days away and party into the night in one of the most beautiful regions in Spain? Come join Stoke Travel from June 1 - Sep 30 at our San Sebastian Surf House in the Basque country, Spain, for an unforgettable surf holiday. Whether you’re a total newbie who doesn’t know a surfboard from an ironing board, or a seasoned pro who likes to get totally barrelled, we’ll make sure you get the most from your time here. After a day in the waves, spend your nights chilling with a cold one or party the night away with other international travellers from across the globe.

Our all-inclusive package includes dorm-accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, board hire, daily surf lessons, and party nights. We also provide optional extra’s such as paragliding, horse riding and yoga, and for €10/day you can take advantage of unlimited beer and sangria to really get in the holiday mood.

I LOVE SURF HOUSE! I was on a solo trip around Europe last year and ended up changing my plans so i could keep going back... 5 times to be exact. The staff, the vibes, the location, the food, the activities... I couldn't fault it. The staff all soon became my friends and i was so excited to go back and see them. I made so many friends with other travellers and some of my best memories of my trip came from the surf house. I recommend this place to anyone. someone wanting to learn to surf, a pro, someone wanting to chill out and do some yoga, someone wanting some fun cultural nightlife in San Seb town... They've go it all. Do yourself a favour and get there, you won't regret it. If you are after a little get away in the most picturesque little (big) house, this is the place for you.

I attended the Stoke San Sebastian surf camp in September and it was great. Adam and the team were awesome and really made it a fun experience. The surf house was a cool place to stay and the bedrooms were warm at night. The food was unbelievable at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The surf instructors were really good and catered to all surfing abilities. Everyone was friendly and accepting and always looking to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. All round good times 🤙

Staying at the surf house was the best way to learn to surf (even though I'm still no pro!). Surfing is a great hangover cure, which is lucky because of the parties in San Sebastian.
The food was so, so good, and the staff super friendly.
The house was pretty simple, just somewhere to sleep, and have a beer with surfers from all around the world.
I can't wait to get back this summer, and maybe even try some of the breaks on the coast of France!

What an amazing surf spot is Zarautz, it's better than I could have ever imagined! And what a great people did I meet at Stoke Travel's Surf camp in Zarautz! The waves were perfect to learn how to surf, the surf classes were perfect for beginner as well as more advanced surfers and the surf teacher was a hottie. I will definitely go to Zarautz to surf with Stoke Travel again. Met the most amazing people there.

What would you improve about this program?

Better tents with more personal space.

Joshua, tell us about yourself.

I'm a designer and illustrator traveling the world with a hefty dose of Italian superstitions and a fake Louis Vuitton bag.

What is your favorite travel memory?

I love traveling because of the people and the experiences. One of my favorite memories was when one of my best friend's and I flew to Siem Reap and spent an amazing day drenched in sweat walking among ancient carvings.

Once the sun set I found myself in a hostel dazed from the evening but absently flashing through my phone. In short time I was with a DJ from Bangkok, that turned out to be a Brazilian model, that serendipitously was on our same flight the next morning back to Thailand.

In a whirlwind adventure, I ended up spending a weekend running around the gay district of Bangkok, dancing with drag queens, and swimming in VIP hotel pool parties high above the city streets. It was enough of a conclusion to a rad travel stint that I now always find myself searching for fellow travelers to explore new locations with.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I am definitely more organized and have fallen in love with Spain. Before Stoke, my travel and experiences were very spontaneous and highly dysfunctional (flashback to one night lost in the Hutongs in Beijing carrying thousands of US dollars taped to my chest sans being able to find a bank).

But now that I think about travel for a living I have begun to really plan and consider where I go and what I do. The biggest change for me though has been that I found a place I don't want to leave. I was always ready to move on when I was traveling but I have never felt that here.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Las Fallas. Always and forever. It was the first real Spanish festival I experienced and made me fall in love with the country. I spent a weekend meeting incredible people, walking among sculptures, eating traditional Spanish paella, and partying all night.

The festival, marked by the burning of sculptures the cities artists have worked on for a whole year, makes anyone visiting feel like a part of a community with all the locals and travelers coming together for a weekend lit by Fireworks.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Stoke is an incredible creative workplace. We never like to do the same thing twice and always believe that there is a more interesting solution to the problem.

Recently we gave ourselves the goal of making our festival campsites just as crazy and wonderful as the festivals we go to. This summer we really have tried to make that happen and it was awesome to see people's faces as they arrived at a place that was basically a wonderland, spending just as much time there as in the festivals.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think the biggest factor is recognizing that you can always do things differently. We are all here because we love to travel and be amazed by things we never expected so if you ever feel bored it's good to recognize that it might be time to rethink some of the ideas.
