I went with Stoke Travel to Oktoberfest and stayed at their Stoketoberfest campsite. I booked a tent for me and my best friend, which was really clean btw, with two sleeping bags and mattresses. Usually food at campsite isn’t the best.., but this time, it was definitely better than expected! Also, the best part of the campsite was the atmosphere. Since oktoberfest is always so crowded and busy, the campsite welcomed you with additional party, fun acitivities, home-made food and unlimited booze, and all in all cool people including the stuff. They were super informative, easy-going and fun. I had such a great time, and I'm looking forward to going back next year! If you're looking for a crazy experience, you should definitely try out Stoke!!

I LOVE SURF HOUSE! I was on a solo trip around Europe last year and ended up changing my plans so i could keep going back... 5 times to be exact. The staff, the vibes, the location, the food, the activities... I couldn't fault it. The staff all soon became my friends and i was so excited to go back and see them. I made so many friends with other travellers and some of my best memories of my trip came from the surf house. I recommend this place to anyone. someone wanting to learn to surf, a pro, someone wanting to chill out and do some yoga, someone wanting some fun cultural nightlife in San Seb town... They've go it all. Do yourself a favour and get there, you won't regret it. If you are after a little get away in the most picturesque little (big) house, this is the place for you.

Had a few mates going who pressured me into getting a ticket. So I thought why not, bought my ticket last minute and Stoke did not disappoint. I've been on party tours before and they can be really hit or miss. But Stoke have cracked it. The atmosphere was electric, so many people only there to have a good time and the crew running the show were amazing. I'll definitely be coming back next year!

Since then I have been on heaps of festival's with stoke now. Every time I go same great vibe., always new people to party with, There campsites go off every night. If you are a solo traveller this is definitely a company to check out. With these guys you are not going to have a choice but to meet people, Its that good!

Next trip booked in is San Vino. Cant wait to marinate in some red wine!

What was your funniest moment?
When my mate Jimbo knocked over a tray of glasses full of beer causing three people to hit the deck!

I hadn't done a retreat before so this was a great introduction to the world of health and wellness for me. All of the activities we did were plenty of fun and I really got into the yoga side of things. The chef prepared meals were tasty and healthy and the hosts aren't the type of people to judge you if you head out to the nightclubs as well!
The activities we did included salsa classes, different types of yoga, massage and cooking. My favourite apart from the yoga would have been the cooking because now I can knock up a few Spanish classics including paella and tortilla for my friends back at home.
The camping is right on the beach and the tents are spacious and comfortable - not that you spend much time in there. All in all it was a great time and I will be recommending it to my friends!

What would you improve about this program?
Breakfast was only available for an hour each morning, one morning I missed out because I had a one too many chandies the night before and felt like a sleep in. Not a big deal though.

What an amazing Retreat. The place, the people, the activities - everything! The perfect combination of fun and games and self-improvement workshops. It was refreshingly fun, life is too important to take seriously and Stoke understands this perfectly, life is for enjoying, growing and sharing and this is exactly what we did!
During the day we did yoga, meditation, acro-yoga, fitness, we spent time on the beach, enjoyed the sunshine and healthy food and at night we played games, had a music jam session round the bonfire all singing and dancing, there was a massage workshop and one night we did a little impromptu talent show which was a lot of fun too.
I was alays dubious about going on a yoga retreat because I thought it would be strict and judgey, but stoke retreats is exactky what I wanted. I couldn't recommend more!

Job Title
Barcelona Bookings Manager
man with beer in lederhosen at Oktoberfest

Chris, tell us about your role at Stoke Travel.

I'm responsible for all incoming bookings from Barcelona or related to Barcelona. This includes our City Breaks, Boat Parties, and Day trips and activities in Barcelona. Aside from this, I do some back office work to get our company optimized on online travel agencies such as booking.com and Expedia.

What is your favorite travel memory?

Springfest with Stoke Travel. I worked on the campsite there which was a party in itself. The beer halls were very fun as well. It was snowing and very cold the week I was there, but this did not interfere with the fun we had with each other and the customers!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I started as an intern and am now a full-time employee. I wrote my graduation thesis for Stoke Travel and had such a good time with the company that I wanted to stay. Luckily for me, Stoke was thinking the same thing about me.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Oktoberfest. I went to Springfest and it was amazing. I'd love to do it again, but bigger - and that's Oktoberfest. My colleagues all speak highly of it, that it's an enhanced version of Springfest, so I can't wait to get back to Munich and the beer halls.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Stoke has a very laid back and flexible team with a personal touch towards the customers. As a customer you are not just a number here to make money off, people take the time for you and add a personal touch to it. You can actually meet us at the festivals and have a beer!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

The personal touch makes it stand out from the other travel companies who are getting more and more automated. We don't have automated replies when you communicate with us through email and you will always get an actual person on the phone when you call us!

Another success factor is the flexibility. We are able to move things around for your benefit, it's not this is this and that is that.
