About Program
This four-week program provides an intensive look at the French language through both the formal classroom experience, and a first-hand cultural experience. By living with a host family, you will be fully immersed in the language and lifestyle of Canada, getting a chance to skyrocket your learning. You will also have the unique opportunity to experience a country that might be close to the U.S. geographically but has a vastly different culture.
The real language learning will take place outside of the classroom. By surrounding yourself in Canadian culture every day and returning home to a host family each night, you will be able to contextualize your learning immediately. Each day's lessons can take on new meaning when they are applied that very evening at the dinner table.

AFS-USA Grants & Scholarships
We offer $1 million dollars in merit and need-based scholarships thanks to the generosity of numerous donors who have a deep connection with AFS and value intercultural exchange. These scholarships range from $1,000 to full tuition, for both our summer and year/semester study abroad programs.
