Vietnam experience

As a 20-year-old on my first experience abroad, I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I travelled to Vietnam for a backpacking and volunteering experience, and Tru Experience travel were amazing from start to finish.

What really stood out was the personal support from Hannah, the owner. You don't often get the chance to speak directly with the owner of a company, but knowing that Hannah had once been a volunteer herself and had been in my shoes made all the difference. Her advice, guidance, and reassurance before and during the trip were invaluable.

The entire experience exceeded my expectations. The volunteering work was incredibly rewarding, and knowing that I was making a positive impact while exploring such an amazing country was something I'll never forget. The team were always there to help and support me, making sure everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.

I can't thank everyone enough for creating such an incredible experience and for giving me memories that will last a lifetime. In fact, I've already booked my next adventure with them and will be heading to Tanzania at the end of the year!

If you're considering volunteering abroad, I would highly recommend TRU

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My most nerve-racking moment was meeting so many new people for the first time. Arriving and walking into a large group where everyone seemed to already know each other was quite intimidating, especially as it was my first time travelling abroad on my own.

I overcame it by reminding myself that everyone was there for the same reason and was probably feeling just as nervous as I was. Once I started introducing myself and joining in with activities, I quickly realised how friendly and welcoming everyone was. Within a couple of days, I had made some amazing friends, and those initial nerves completely disappeared. Looking back, pushing myself out of my comfort zone was one of the best parts of the experience.

BEST TIME OF MY LIFE

I volunteered with Tru experience travel and did a 4 week road trip too. I visited Cambodia Thailand Vietnam and Laos. I have had the most amazing experience of my life. I was fully immersed in the community as described by the company. I made friends from all over the world and became very close with locals who were just the sweetest people on earth. I can not wait to head back in Feb with Tru Experience Travel again, I spent alot of time speaking with the director Hannah who is an absolute gem. She has been wonderful to me and all my calls and emails every second of the day lol. Thank you everyone.

What would you improve about this program?
There is always room for improvement, but not here its perfect, they have not tampered with the reality of the south east asian community they work with.

I cannot thank the Tru Team enough for my amazing experience in Nepal. I had just 1 month in Nepal, and now I am volunteering and travelling across Asia with Tru Experience Travel. This trip has really changed my life and I am in absolute ore with the world. If you want to travel the world in a different kind of way I totally reccomed Tru experience to anybody. Not only do you get an amazing experience the prices arent bad either. Hhahaha .

What would you improve about this program?
I see nothing wrong with it. You just need to be mentally prepared for a new culture.
