I was placed with a respected manufacturing firm where I got to work directly on production line optimization projects. It wasn't just theory—I was in workshops, troubleshooting real issues with the engineers, and seeing how global supply chains actually work on the ground. The team was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with my learning curve. GAC made sure my visa and housing were sorted before I even arrived, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. Doing an engineering internship in Shenzhen was a deep dive into real-world product development and advanced manufacturing processes. Placed with a leading electronics manufacturer, I was integrated into a team working on prototyping and quality assurance for consumer hardware. What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favorite travel memories was taking a solo train journey across several cities in China. I explored Guilin’s natural beauty, experienced Chengdu’s laid-back culture, and wandered the historical streets of Xi’an. In Xi’an, I met a group of international travelers, and we explored the Terracotta Warriors together. That experience reminded me how powerful travel is in connecting people from all walks of life. It deepened my appreciation for cultural exchange, which now inspires me daily as I support students discovering China for the first time.
 

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Working at Go Abroad China has taught me the true meaning of adaptability and empathy. Supporting students from around the world, I’ve learned to anticipate their needs, communicate more effectively across cultures, and think ahead in solving potential challenges. Every student has a different story and set of expectations, and I’ve grown more confident and responsive as a result. It’s made me a better listener, a more organized coordinator, and someone who truly values patience and understanding.
 

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One student from Germany told us how her internship with a tech company in Shanghai completely shifted her career goals. She came to China unsure of what direction to take after university, but through her project work and mentorship, she discovered a passion for sustainable engineering. She later returned home and changed her degree focus. What touched me the most was her saying that “China gave me a future I hadn’t imagined.” That’s why we do what we do.
 

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to join the Gap Year program that combines Chinese language learning with volunteering. It’s such a meaningful way to grow both personally and professionally. The mix of cultural immersion, language acquisition, and hands-on experience would give me the chance to step out of my comfort zone while doing something impactful. I think it’s the perfect program for anyone looking to reset, explore, and build lifelong skills.
 

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Go Abroad China is unique because we don’t treat students as just participants — we treat them like family. From the first airport pickup to their final days in China, we are involved every step of the way. I’m especially proud of our team during the peak arrival season each year. We work around the clock to coordinate flights, housing, orientation, and emergencies — often juggling hundreds of details. Seeing students smile after settling in makes all the effort worth it.
 

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factor is trust. When students and parents trust us, everything else flows more smoothly — communication, service, and reputation. Building that trust means consistently delivering on our promises, being responsive, and showing genuine care. A successful company listens to its clients and continuously improves.
