About Program

We are a wildlife sanctuary, rescue and rehabilitation center located in Costa Rica. We rescue over 100 animals every year, and helping us carry out this important work is a team of dedicated interns gaining invaluable experience learning and working in their chosen fields.
We offer competitive, well-respected internship placements in the following departments:
Wildlife Sanctuary Internship: It will help you prepare for a career in the field of Zookeeping and Animal Caretaking. You will assist in our Wildlife Sanctuary elevating the quality of life of animals in captivity, performing animal husbandry to include assisting in the daily feeding, cleaning, and enrichment of enclosures.
Wildlife Rescue Center internship: This internship combines the work in both departments of our Rescue Center, the nursery and the clinic. You'll be helping our specialize team to take care of the injured and orphaned animals that arrive to the center.

Questions & Answers

Absolutely, Heidi! Our internship program is an amazing chance for a recently graduated vet to gain hands-on experience as an active member of our veterinary team in a rescue and rehabilitation setting working with sloths, monkeys, parrots, and a variety of Costa Rican wildlfie. I invite you to write me at volunteer@kstr.org to learn more about our program!
