About Program
Explore the complex intersection of mental health, culture, and society in Rwanda and South Africa. This program combines rigorous academic frameworks - such as community psychology, culturally-adapted interventions, systems-based care, and ethics - with immersive field placements. You'll critically engage with global frameworks for mental health promotion, learn to assess service delivery models, and explore impact measurement.
Over the program, you’ll participate in structured seminars, case study analyses, and on-the-ground engagement in mental health clinics, NGOs, or community outreach programs. Guided by both academic mentors and local practitioners, you’ll develop a reflective portfolio and complete a capstone project - such as a needs assessment, intervention proposal, or implementation plan - that demonstrates both academic insight and practical application.
