What is your favorite travel memory?
J'ai un souvenir particulièrement émerveillé de mon voyage en Crète, et plus particulièrement de la visite de la ville de Chania, dont la vieille ville et le port vénitien sont absolument fabuleux. Strolling through the cobbled streets, past colourful houses with Venetian architecture that make this city so welcoming, is a unique experience!
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
Thanks to SL Immersion, I often meet fascinating and open-minded people who enjoy exchanging ideas and discussing topics, allowing me to learn more about their respective countries and offering me a unique cultural experience. The particular form of immersion and daily life with the students removes any superficiality from the relationship. They become full members of the family. This activity has also allowed me to enrich my teaching approach and learn to adapt quickly to different expectations and ways of working.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
One of my students has become absolutely fanatical about Breton dancing, which I introduced her to during her stay. She will be returning during the next Interceltic Festival of Lorient, an unmissable event in Brittany for anyone who loves Celtic culture.
Beyond any one story, it is the fact that students often become friends with whom you stay in touch that makes this experience incomparable.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
I would like to host students from countries I am unfamiliar with in order to further enrich my cultural knowledge. Discussing culture, history and politics with students offers an incredible opportunity to gain an ‘insider's’ view of the countries concerned, as well as informed perspectives, which is rarely possible when visiting as a tourist.
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
SL Immersion gives you the feeling of being part of a real team, where every member is attentive to others and communication flows freely. The team that runs it is always looking for new ideas to improve the programme offered to students, as well as the well-being of teachers. You feel more like you are being guided, supported and encouraged than directed, which is extremely valuable.
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
I believe that you should never rest on your laurels, but instead constantly seek improvements and new opportunities to enable the business to grow.
You also need to surround yourself with experienced, flexible, motivated colleagues who share your vision. That's exactly what SL Immersion does, and I'm grateful to them for it!
