I'm not sure if there is a different certificate required to teach English in Greece but I do know the certification I have is called the TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Maybe that's what the person will need to teach English there, in addition to other documents.

I think that anyone can teach English, whether mother-tongue or not. If you only speak English, maybe you should try to learn the local language.

It's always good to have a TEFL Certificate even if you don't have a degree. There are some countries that don't need a degree and you can teach with just the TEFL Certificate.
