WAT PROGRAM 2019

My daughter age 17 was offered an opportunity to join the December 2019 WAT program . The organizational and operations of the program was done with speed of execution for a 5 day warrior tour program. This was absolutely amazing and would recommend Warriors Academy to parents for teens between 15 and 18 years old. This is a building block using tools of nature to create great future leaders and see it as an opportunity to compliment mentorship with other careers.

Dimeeraa had an amazing experience and definitely has redefined her vision for the future. Most rewarding was that she redefined her definition of FEAR. I am really proud of her under the mentorship of Ruan Viljoen and believe this is a building block for a future leader whilst she pursues to live on the edge of achieving her dreams and purposely contributing to the community that she will future be engaging with .

Thank you for the Warrior Team who guided her on this tour!

Opportunity

After finishing a year at Warriors I had a great hunger for life and lot of determination for the next steps I was going to take. I experienced a lot of personal growth, especially in self confidence. Warriors didn’t force me to change, it simply gave me the opportunity to expand my horizons and make of it what I wanted. Warriors is not all serious, it is an immensely fun program that challenges you to step out of your comfort zone as often as you dare, push your limits and go beyond what you know about yourself.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
No gap year program or facilitator can change you if you don’t want to, but if you choose to grow, Warriors gives the perfect opportunity. Warriors is the perfect place to go all in. Why not?

Warriors academy review

My experience at warriors was very good me physically Mentally and emotionally. It’s help me too get out of my shell and become a better version of myself. It’s has help me for my future success. But it was a much too handle in the start but with the awesome and amazing guidance that I received from the warriors family made my transition very very easy. I learnt new things and I learnt a different tale on life. Row and Coutney helped me a lot and we became a much better family by the end of the year.

What was your funniest moment?
The funniest moment for me and for the whole group was me trying too cycle and falling most of the time

Life changing experience

Had a wonderfull experience at Warriors, I did the summer quest, which was 7 weeks. We did many activities like: 3-day hike in the woods, 10-day cycle trough mighty landscapes, group talks, etc. which aims to develope indivuals mentally and physically. Trough all of this I made good friends and have learned alot and I would recommend it to every young person. The group is lead by Rowena with the aid of the multiple activity instructors, it's expected from the group to follow the rules, otherwise there will be serious concequenses, were everyone should pay for. Group mentallity is something that is very important at the Warriors.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Dancing in front of everyone and I've done it by just doing it.

Warriors Academy review

I couldn't recommend a better gap year program than Warriors Academy..with all the adventure and adrenaline packed activities that you'll do through out the year is the best fun I've ever had..when you first start there your curious about the other people but you soon become so close that they all become like a second family to you..I was in a bit of a rut before I started at Warriors Academy but with all the support, encouragement and guidance that all the awesome facilitators give I was able to climb out that rut and Lear so much about myself and everything around me..

If your looking for a gap year program Warriors Academy is the place for you.

Life Changing Experience

Warriors was honestly one of the most amazing years of my life. The program helps you grow as a person and experience so many new things. It pushes you out of your comfort zones and challenges you physically, mentally and emotionally. You form the most incredible relationships with your fellow warriors and by the end, you are family. The facilitators are absolutely amazing and are always there for you, to give you advice and just be there for you when you need to talk. I would highly recommend doing it if you are unsure of what you next step is, or just looking for one big adventure.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Honestly there were so many adrenaline pumping adventures that we did. But the one that took the cake was definitely the bungee jump of the bridge. But I’m so glad I did it.

Warriors is character-building

I was 17 years old when I went on Warriors and it was one of the most important years of my life. I learnt several lessons, particularly with respect to the importance of qualities such as determination, resilience, teamwork and discipline. These lessons have been helpful ever since, and I still regularly apply the tools I learnt on Warriors. I also got the opportunity to make several new friends from various parts of the world while travelling around the remarkable country that is South Africa. Due to Warriors, I have at a young age visited each province of South Africa, something I would not otherwise have done.

I particularly recommend Warriors to the 17-25 year old age group and prospective Warriors should be prepared for an experience which is challenging and rewarding in equal measures.

A surreal Adventure

Unsure of what the future had in store.. I decided to embark on a journey into the unkown . Warriors , people you know for a week become like family .
Warriors was such a amazing and exciting time , and if given the chance I would do it all over again .
For that short moment you truly become part of something special .
So many amazing trips and activities . Taught me so much , and everyone helped me to push myself in a positive and encouraging environment.
Definitely something I would recommend.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would do all the quests. Every quest has something different to offer and I think to miss anything is a shame .

My review

I had a wonderful time at Warriors. Unfortunately I was unable to stay longer than the first quest for personal reasons. Despite only spending a short time with the program, I met incredible people from different walks of life. This helped me broaden my perspective on the world as I was engaging with people that I would have never spent time with without Warriors. Furthermore, the program challenged me mentally, and physically, while teaching me invaluable lessons in life that I am certain will be applicable for as long as I live! An incredible experience, one that I am very lucky to have been a part of.

The adventure of a lifetime!

Leaving school is a really daunting thing when you aren’t sure where you’re headed. Warriors helped me find my purpose and get to know myself - all while having the most incredible adventures. The memories of that time are still some of my best and the people I met are still friends today. How I wish I was 18 and could do it all over again! It’s a safe space where you can learn and grow, try new things, explore parts of one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world and have heaps of fun doing it!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Do it all! Each opportunity, challenge and adventure has something to teach you, so grab everything with both hands!
